The Art of Inspiration#
In 2004, Vesa Hietala, after ending his competitive career at the age of 27, decided to pursue his long dreamed path of designing costumes for the DanceSport industry. His inspiration didn’t come from other designers or trends but from his own personal experiences as well as from watching other dancers.
“I get my inspiration for the costumes from watching dancers, they all have something very special about them, I love to see how they interpret different moves and characters.”
As a dancer, understanding the special requirements for a costume and its effect on the image and the actual performance gave him a most valuable insight. His initial efforts by making dresses for his dance partner during his dancing career led him, his creativity and talent to the max.

Comments by the Founder#
We have always based our costumes on the individual customers dancing and their body type. Many of our customers have said that they like that they can talk to me about their dancing and what they are working on in their dancing. We started with Latin only, but there is increasing amount of ballroom dresses ordered now. We have also made a lot of other kinds of costumes, for example we made a costume for Misty Copeland of American ballet Theatre recently.
