Wendi Davies is a former professional ballroom dancer, specialize in International Style Standard, Latin and 10 Dance. Wendi was the winner of "Championship Ballroom Dancing" the popular show on PBS, finalist at the French Open, Blackpool Dance Festival and U.S. Open Championships. Was owner and operator of "Ballroom on Fifth" studio in NYC for 10 years. Also Wendi is co-organizer of the NJ DanceSport Classic - Summer Sizzler.

Overview

Wendi Davies began ballroom dance while in college studying architecture. A competitive swimmer for many years, she was looking for a new competitive outlet. The daughter of dancing parents, she soon learned of the competitive and athletic nature of Ballroom Dancing.

In her amateur career she was ranked third in the United States. She turned professional in 1991 and went on to be ranked second at the United States Championships, and was the winner of "Championship Ballroom Dancing" the popular show on PBS. Wendi was represented United States at all major competition all over the word like German Open in Germany - Mannheim known now as GOC, she was the UK Rising Star Champion, British Open Rising Star finalist, represented US at Blackpool Dance Festival team match, finalist at the French Open, the US Open Championships and was ranked 13th in the world.

Wendi is a member of the United States Imperial Society Of Teachers of Dancing and is Licentiate in both International Style Standard and Latin dancing. Also she is a member of National Dance Council of America, USA Dance and World DanceSport Federation.

Wendi was owner and operator of "Ballroom on Fifth" studio in NYC for 10 years. Now she teaches regularly at "Ballroom off Fifth" in NYC and Rogers DanceSport in NJ as well as traveling to coach and judge.

She is currently a co-owner and operator of the NJ DanceSport Classic - Summer Sizzler competitions.
