Katrina Volgina, known for her passion for fitness and health, is a Professional Ballroom Dancer, coach, and choreographer based out of Georgia (USA) who serves as the Southern District Director for the Junior Athletes DanceSport Association (JADA). Katrina is the owner of the "Volga Dance Academy" and the organizer of the "Volga Cup" DanceSport competition.

Overview

Katrina Volgina was born on April 10, 1979 in Vladivostok, Russia and began dancing at the age of 5, coached and raised by instructor Alexander Volgin.

Katrina danced competitively in Russia for about 20 years and represented her home country at various international competitions, including the 1998 Olympic Asian Games.

In 2007, Volgina came to the United States and started dancing as a Professional with partner Rainer Rics in the Pro/Am Division within the National Dance Council of America (NDCA).

Sharing Her Passion

In 2014, Katrina became the organizer of the Volga Cup, held each year to promote Amateur DanceSport in the USA.

As an instructor, Katrina has taught children and adults all over the world, including in Korea, China, Macau, and Hong Kong.

Once in the United States, she opened the Volga Dance Academy, the most successful competitive dance program for children in the Southeast United States. With her focus on fitness, gymnastics, and dance, Katrina has developed some of the area’s best junior, adult, and Pro/Am students. She also currently teaches Social and wedding dance as well as her Volga Dance kids team in different locations throughout Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia. Katrina also teaches workshops, group classes and is available for private lessons, shows and choreography.

Volgina is a regular Professional dancer as part of Columbus, Georgia’s Dancing with the Local Stars charitable events.

Katrina Volgina serves as the Southern District Director for the Junior Athletes DanceSport Association (JADA). She is a Federation National Dance League (FNDL) USA Representative, a World Dance Council (WDC) International Adjudicator and a USA Dance National Adjudicator (A+ B+ C+ D+ E+).

Hobbies

Outside of Ballroom Dance, Katrina is a certified Zumba instructor and former competitor on the rxMuscle fitness contest circuit.
