The Viennese Waltz is a genre of Ballroom Dance. It is actually the original form of the Waltz. It's the oldest of all Ballroom dances, emerging in the second half of the 18th century influenced by German and Austrian dance styles.

The waltz (from German: "Walzer") is a smooth, progressive ballroom and folk dance, normally in about this sound triple time, performed primarily in closed position.

Developed in the 1910s, the Foxtrot reached its height of popularity in the 1930s and remains practiced today.

Formation dance is a style of ballroom dancing. It is pattern or shadow team dancing by couples in a formation team. The choreography may be based on a particular dance or a medley of dances. Formation dancing may be done for exhibition or for competition between teams.

The Folk Dance are dances that are developed by people that reflect the life of the people of a certain country or region. Not all ethnic dances are folk dances. The terms "ethnic" and "traditional" are used when it is required to emphasize the cultural roots of the dance. If some dances, such as polka, cross ethnic boundaries and even cross the boundary between "folk" and "ballroom dance", ethnic differences are often considerable enough to mention, e.g., Czech polka vs. German polka.

Exhibition dancing is choreographed Ballroom Dancing, where movements and lines of a theatrical nature are used to enhance the atmosphere of a dance that is performed before an audience.
