DanceSport is the official term for competitive Ballroom Dancing, in contrast to Social Dancing or Exhibition Dancing.
During the difficult times of the Coronavirus worldwide epidemic, Igor Golovach & Alessandro Scalora decided to take the time to unite people from all over the world of the beautiful DanceSport industry. Instructors, choreographers, and dancers alike joined us to share their thoughts on staying strong and positive during this global crisis, sharing their advice on fighting on and not losing hope, sending their messages of support and aspiration. Thus, the project of DanceSport - Stay United was formed.
Dancesport Australia (DSA) - is the official national governing body for DanceSport (the competitive version of ballroom dancing) in the Australia. Member of World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), President - Gordon Gilkes.
The DanceSport Federation (DSF) - is a ballroom dance governing organization that was established in 2022 as a National Body member of the World Dance Organization (WDO) in the United States of America. DSF is about building a better industry by engaging and educating participants on the way of dedication, elegance, and sport all together without discrimination of any kind, political stances of existing federations, creating equal opportunities for everyone with mutual understanding of sportsmanship, spirit, friendship, solidarity, and fair play.
DanceSport Rankings (DSR) was founded in 2016 by Michelle-Angela Blank and Igor Golovach. The proposed platform will offer not only competition management, but also a ranking system of various subjects pertaining to the DanceSport industry including athletes, adjudicators, competitions, organizations, etc., based on a various set of criteria that will determine that subject's DSR score.
DanceSport Studio (DSS) is a Ballroom Dancing Studio located in Medford, New Jersey. DSS was founded in 2017 by Igor Golovach and Michelle-Angela Blank, current DanceSport athletes, multi-time U.S. National Vice-Champions, 5-time World Championships and World cup representetives and 2019 WDSF World Latin Showdance Finalists.
Dancing with the Stars is the name of several international television series based on the format of the British TV series Strictly Come Dancing, which is distributed by BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC. Currently the format has been licensed to over 42 territories.
Daniel Calloway is a former professional ballroom dancer specialize in both International Style Standard and Latin. USA Dance member, a World Cup Adjudicator and World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Certified.
Daniel Dilley is a Ballroom dancer with over 15 years of dance experience, who specializes in the American Style. A former Professional American Rhythm competitor, Daniel is also the head coach of the Purdue Latin & Ballroom Dance Team and co-organizes the annual Purdue Ballroom Classic Competition.
Daniele Gozzi has represented the United States in the Professional Latin American division and has attained such titles as the US National Rising Star Latin Champion.
Danmarks Sportdanserforbund - is the official national governing body for DanceSport (the competitive version of ballroom dancing) in the Denmark. Member of World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), President - Karen Pedersen.
Danzon is a sequence dance, in which all danced together a set of figures. It is the official musical genre and dance of Cuba. Danzón is a slow, formal partner dance, requiring set footwork around syncopated beats, and incorporating elegant pauses while the couples stand listening to virtuoso instrumental passages, as characteristically played by a charanga or tipica ensemble. It is also an active musical form in Mexico, and is still much loved in Puerto Rico.
Dasha Sushko is a former Professional Ballroom dancer, specializing in the International Style Standard and Latin divisions. She is the founder and owner of Ballroom Dream Dance Studio located in South River, New Jersey (USA). Dasha is not only certified as a dance instructor and adjudicator under the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), but also under the World Dance Council (WDC) as an adjudicator as well.
David Elkin is a former 4-time Professional World Champion, 7-time Professional United States Champion, and a 3-time Professional British Champion, now an elite instructor and adjudicator with over 28 years of dance experience. David is the owner and director of World Champion Productions and a co-organizer of the Ultimate DanceSport Challenge.
David Hamilton is a former Ballroom dancer, specializing in American Smooth. An undefeated 3-time U.S. National DanceSport Champion in the Professional American Smooth division, David is also a 4-time Finalist of the World Professional Showdance Championship and holds 68 National Dance Council of America Championship Event titles. He currently co-owns and operates Nashville Ballroom & Company and is the former owner of the Nashville Starz Ballroom Dance Championships.
David Sycamore is a former Ballroom dancer who won various World Championship titles in both the Latin and Ten Dance divisions, including the World Professional Latin Showdance Championship and the World Professional Ten Dance Championship 5-times. He has formerly been a Director of the British Dance Council and continues to sit on its International Professional Affairs Committee. David is the Vice-Chairman of Ballroom Dancers' Federation International and is one of the directors of "Dance Options Cheam" in Surrey, UK.
Davide Gabusi is a multi-time Italian International Style Latin Champion and is a 5-time Italian National Champion in the Filuzziane. Davide is known for organizing the prestigious Bologna Open - Trofeo Numero Uno for over 23 years. Currently, he is an adjudicator for the Federazione Italiana Danza Sportiva (FIDS) and World DanceSport Federation (WDSF).
Dean Abraham, originally from Tadworth, England, has represented Denmark at all Major International Worldwide Competitions throughout Japan, Australia and Europe. He was one of the founders of the "Dance Options" training center in London, where dancers from "Dancing With The Stars", including Mark Ballas, Derek and Julianne Hough, Max and Val Chmerkovskiy, and past and present World Champions have trained. In the United States, Dean strives to further incorporate Ballroom into the lives of American children to see a true American-born become a World Champion.
Debbie Avalos Kusumi is a former Professional Ballroom Dancer, specializing in International Style Standard and Latin. A former 4-time undefeated United States 10 Dance Champion, Debbie is not only certified as a dance instructor under the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), but is also a National Adjudicator and a World Dance Council (WDC) Adjudicator. Debbie is also the organizer of the California Open DanceSport Championships, the Atlanta Open, and the Chicago Crystal Ball DanceSport Competitions.
