American Rhythm refers to a category of dances in American Style Ballroom competitions. This division includes dances known as the Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero, and Mambo. Sometimes it may even include the Samba and the West Coast Swing.
American Smooth refers to a category of dances in American Style Ballroom competitions. This division includes dances known as the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz. Previously, Peabody was also included.
The American Star Ball Championships is a sanctioned by National Dance Council of America tree days competition, hosted annually in Atlantic City (USA), around the middle of May. Organized by 4-time World American Rhythm Finalist Ilya and Amanda Reyzin and Igor Litvinov.

It is very different from the Tango in International and American Style Ballroom Dancing.
