George Gachechiladze

Overview

With his first partner Lucy Wyly, George was representing the United States of America. They were competing in 3 categories (Youth, Under 21 and Amateur) in many major competitions like: "Ohio Star Ball Championships", "US Open" in Maimi (FL). Best result was placing 4-th in the final of USA Dance National Qualifying Event "Maryland Dancesport Championship", known now as "Mid-Atlantic Championships" in Baltimore (Maryland).

In 2005 George Gachechiladze starting dancing together with "Mzia Orvelashvili". Couple was competing in International Style Latin and representing his home country Georgia in many International Competition: "Moscow Open" in Russia, "German Open Championships (GOC) in Germany, and "Golden Fleece" in Tbilisi, Georgia. Best result was making the final in "Ashdod Youth Latin Open" in Ashdod, Israel.

From 2006 till 2011 George continues his competitive career with Salome Chachua. For that period of time they have achieved many International Finals in Amateur as well as Professional Division of DanceSport, in both Standard and Latin styles.

In some of their results include: 2006 IDSF Open Standard Champions and 2006 IDSF Open Latin Vice Champions at the "Golden Fleece" in Tbilisi, Georgia. Have Represented Georgia at the major competition in Riga, Latvia 2006 "Baltic Grand Prix". 2007 "Spring Tbilisi" Standard and Latin Finalist. 2007 IDSF International Open Latin and IDSF Open Standard Finalist at the "Caucasian Open". 2009 Standard and Latin Semi-Finalist at the "Dance Festival" in Yerevan, Armenia. 2009 IDSF East European Latin Finalist and 2009-2010 IDSF International Open Latin and Standard Finalist at the "Caucasus Cup" in Tbilisi, Georgia.

After finishing the dancing career in 2011, George Gachechiladze has focused on instructing, judging and organizations. He is Certified WDSF Adjudicator, President of the Georgian National DanceSport Federation (GNDSF) and Co-Organizer of two the most prestigious competition in Georgia.
