Definition

The Tallinn DanceSport Cup is a sanctioned 2-day Estonian DanceSport Association (EDSA) competition hosted annually in Tallin, Estonia since 2016. Recognized by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), the competition is held at the end of September, at the beginning of the DanceSport season - a good jump start for couples, judges, and coaches alike.

Overview

The Tallinn DanceSport Cup is organized by multi-time finalist of the Estonian National Championships in the Latin and 10 Dance divisions, Svjatoslav Jushkov. An Estonian coach and owner of the "Esperanza" Dance School and "Cadenza Dance Outlet", Svjatoslav is also a WDSF "A" Licensed and PD Adjudicator. Additional assitant organizers of the Tallinn DanceSport Cup include the "Tango" Dance School, the "Esperanza" Dance School, and the Estonian DanceSport Association (EDSA).

This competition was first organized in 2016 as the "Estonian Open Championships." In 2018, the name was changed to the Tallinn DanceSport Cup.

The main goal of the competition lies in the task of making sure that dancers competing at any level will get a result according to their true performance, without any politics hindering those results. The Tallinn DanceSport Cup also maintains goals of growing this major competition and maintaining the exhilarating feel of World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) events. With use of artistic lighting and decor as well as a judging panel that includes National, International and WDSF Adjudicators, competitors have the opportunity to dance in front of some of the top critics in the business, at the same time doing so in an inviting and energetic environment. The audience will enjoy the evening sessions with nice lighting and sound, live music and VIP table seating options.

  • Two days of competition
  • National, International and WDSF World Class Adjudicators
  • Top WDSF ranking couples from all over the world
  • Saturday Evening Session with Live Music by the Anna Darling Band
  • Dance Competition Music by DJ Maksy
  • Live Video Stream

"It was really nice to be part of such a wonderfully organized event, both in 2016 and 2017. When I received an invitation to judge in 2018, I accepted it without any hesitation. Looking forward to see everybody, colleagues and participants in September 2018.

Olga Müller-Omeltchenko, WDSF judge

"There was a lot of positive feedback from couples. They trust this competition and the judges' decisions. This is what keeps us moving to make this year`s competition even better!"

Svjatoslav Jushkov, Organizer
