Lev Vesnovskiy is a former Professional Ballroom dancer with over 30 years of teaching experience. Aside from being the owner of the Atlantic Ballroom Dance Studio in Brooklyn, NY (USA) and the organizer of the Metropolitan DanceSport Championships, Lev holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and a Master's in Computer Science. He has even published several books about Ballroom dancing, including the Russian version of the "Technique of Latin Dancing", approved by Mr. Walter Laird himself.

Overview

Lev Vesnovskiy began his Ballroom dancing career in 1978 in Russia and competed in all major European and North American Championships as an Amateur in the Standard, Latin and 10 Dance divisions as well as a Professional, focusing only on Standard.

Parallel to his DanceSport career, Lev graduated from the Novosibirsk State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and a Master's in Computer Science.

With his wife and dance partner, Yelena Vesnovskaya, Lev has founded and led the first Russian Ballroom choreography faculty in the Novosibirsk University of Performing Arts and became the first lecturer and examiner in the region. Lev became not only one of the first certified professionals in the Asian region of Russia, but also the first invigilator as well.

He has published several books about Ballroom dancing including the Russian version of the "Technique of Latin Dancing" approved by Mr. Walter Laird himself.

Since 2001, Lev has been the owner and instructor of Atlantic Ballroom Dance Studio in Brooklyn, New York (USA). He is a licensed USA Dance adjudicator who has been teaching and training dancers for the past 30 years. His students have become Russian Youth Latin National Champions and USA Dance National Youth and Under 21 Standard Champions.

As an adjudicator, Lev has judged many esteemed National and International competitions. He is also the organizer of the Metropolitan DanceSport Championships together with his wife.
